2007 Premieres and Solos
CD Sound Clips

In 2007, we couldn't fit everything we wanted to share on one CD! Allegro is an ensemble that celebrates its contradictions. While the group specializes in the music of the 16th and 17th centuries, it also presents world premieres of exciting new works. Our 2007 Premieres and Solos CD celebrates the world premiere of two important works: Ralph Lehman's Chamber Symphony and Arlen Clarke's Nocturne for Julia. The latter work was commissioned in memory of long-time Allegro friend Julia Oliver by her family. The CD also contains excerpts from performances by our outstanding season soloists: trumpeter Barton Woomert (from the Neruda Concerto and from Scott Irvine's Aubade), guitarist Allen Krantz (from Vivaldi's Concerto in D), violinist Austin Hartman (from Mozart's Concerto No. 3) and the Newstead Trio (from the Beethoven Triple Concerto).
